Milford is located in Clermont County and the original town was built along the banks of the Little Miami River, where mills could harness the water power. It became a city officially in 1980. Now growth has taken many residents out along Route 28 north of I-275, where many newer subdivisions have been built. Milford has every store you could possibly need along Route 28, just north of I-275. If you just want to get to your destination quickly you can bypass the shopping district. The old historic Milford part of town with its quaint shops and restaurants remains as the downtown area on the banks of the river. Milford has a large, healthy school district with over 6,200 students, and has undertaken a large project to build five new elementary schools, four of which have already been completed. This will cause redistricting this fall when the schools reopen. Many who are served by Milford Schools actually live in Miami Township or even have Loveland mailing addresses. There are over 300 teachers in the school district. It has just retained its "Excellent" rating and 89% graduate, with 78% going on to higher learning. Buying Land and New Construction >Buying New Or Adding On
Homeowners should consider several questions before making the choice between adding on to an existing home or moving up in the market to a bigger house. How much money do you have available for remodeling your current house? How much additional space do you require? Is there room to expand on the ground level or will the foundation of your present home support a second floor? What will the local zoning and building ordinances permit? How much equity do you have in the property? Are there affordable properties for sale that would satisfy your housing needs?
Consider your neighborhood--it makes more sense to add on to a smaller house than to over-improve the largest home in the area. Your decision should ultimately be based on your individual needs, the extent of the work involved and which features will add the most value. According to industry experts, buyers are always excited by state-of-the art kitchens and bathrooms.
