WEST CHESTER & LIBERTY TOWNSHIP West Chester is an expansive area in Butler County that has seen tremendous growth in the recent past. It encompasses several dozen neighborhoods situated in a 35-square mile area located in between Cincinnati and Dayton with about 40,000 residents. In 2000 Union Township changed its name to West Chester Township to better reflect the area. Butler County was founded in 1803 and named after a revolutionary war hero. There were 11 Native American mounds in the area at one time. In 1997 a new exchange, Union Centre Boulevard, was added off I-75 north of I-275 and a Marriott Hotel went up at the site. Now this area has unofficially been named the entertainment district for northern Cincinnati, with the Rave Movie Theatres and a wide array of restaurants from chili parlors to gourmet. Land in what was known as Union Township has been all but built out and now the growth has moved farther north to Liberty Township, which is also served by the Lakota School System. Liberty Township is now about half built, with some very large projects in the beginning stages. 25,000 people occupy this 30-square mile area, which has been adding about 1,000 residents per year. The township is proud of its new fire department. This school district has faced some growing pains, with an amazing growth rate over the past several years and still retained its "Excellent" rating. Lakota Schools employ 1150 teachers for 17,171 students, easily the largest district in the area, covering an area of 68 square miles, and the eighth largest in the state. In 1997 two new high schools were built to replace the previous one. 96% graduate and 90% go on to college. The district is rated "Excellent." Relocation >Enhancing Your Home
A moderate climate can help your home sell, but wherever you live, you can enhance your home's hidden potential by bringing the outside into your home. Minor remodeling projects can be tailored to suit your taste and your budget.
Study the placement of your home on the property. A small window can be made larger to let more light into a room and expand the view. You can create an entertainment area for guests by installing a sliding glass door which opens onto your garden or adding a patio or deck. The addition of a skylight in a dark room can make a dramatic improvement.
You can also consider ways to enhance the outdoor features of your home and integrate them into the living space of your home. Such improvements can often greatly increase the value of your property.
